Welcome Back!

Welcome to Elementary Art 2014-2015!!

The goals of The PLAS Visual Arts Program are:

1.) To familiarize students with famous works of art.
2.) To provide positive experiences exploring different art media.
3.) To improve students' ability to know, to understand and to form personal opinion.
4.) To learn the history of art; therefore, the history of humanity.

Activities:
Grades K-2 are busy getting ready for Grandparent's Day, scheduled for Friday, September 19. They've been busy creating beautiful family portraits

Grades 3-6 are reviewing the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Our focus is line, shape, color and patterns. By using markers, crayons and oil pastels, beautiful personal NAME TOTEMS and PATTERN PALS have been made.

Art Show Details

Student work submitted for the Art Show will be on display and judged on Wednesday, March 21st. The work is to remain on display until Friday, March 23rd. Any student with work going to the District Art Show will receive detailed instructions from Mrs. Goff prior to leaving for Spring Break.

School Art Show

Art classes are working very hard preparing for the school art show, this event is scheduled for March 21st in the cafetorium. Students interested in submitting artwork done outside school hours may turn their artwork into Mrs. Goff by March 14th.
